So It Begins.

While posting about my little hobby projects online in Reddit, Facebook and Instagram, I have met a lot of people asking how I do everything I do. I have tried my best to help people, but the information is usually scattered all over, lost into the void of internet and it’s daily changing digital landscape. It’s been 7 years since I’ve actively written a blog. My first one is still there, but archived long time ago, when I sold the electric motorcycle that I had built.

So… Where to begin? Last weekend I was able to do the finalization steps for my Kraken Fantasy Dungeon project that I had started in summer, when the kickstarter files first came available. I will write more about my steps and methods I have used in my project in future posts. But first I want to think about the structure how I will build this little site of mine. Don’t want to end up with an incoherent mess of a spaghetti.

Until then, I will just add this introduction here that I have just filmed and posted on HeroQuest FB Group, Kraken 3D Studios Workshop FB Group and League of Dungeoneers FB Group. Enjoy.

I have printed the tiles in PLA with my Prusa Mini+ filament printer. All the parts I have sprayed with plastic filler spray (automotive stuff), sanded them to get rid of the layer lines with wet-sandpaper and then primed and painted them traditionally. I have mostly used Vallejo, Citadel and Army Painter products. For priming I have just used some cheap Motox Black Primer Spray which seem to work just as fine for 3dprinted stuff as the 3x more expensive primers from Citadel or Army Painter.

The majority of minis are my original 1990 HeroQuest minis that I finally repainted last year. Couple of orcs and the main boss were printed in resin by Minis3D.

The heroes, some assorted props and the stone golem I have printed myself with my Prusa Mini+. Hero minis are designed by Artisan Guild, Vae Victis and Fabio Schizzo (all stl’s found from MyMiniFactory). Golem is designed by printedobsession, also in MMF.

Some of the props are from Thingiverse, some from MyMiniFactory. And a few bought from Etsy as well before I had my own printer. Not sure which were from where.

The fireplaces were bought from XPForge: https://www.etsy.com/listing/899843439/led-fireplace-dragonshire-dragonlock-fat

And the campfire, braziers and portal are by McKeeMorology: https://www.etsy.com/shop/McKeeMorology

And some props and decoration bits are from Zealot Miniatures: https://zealotminiatures.com/
